Aloha and welcome
to August on Maui. As the summer months begin to wind down, we are faced
with the challenge of cramming everything we wanted or were supposed to
do into one month. A daunting task if we had not learned how to perfect
that task last year! If you are on Maui this month, there are some
great events to take advantage of: Aug 6th – 7th
“Maui Onion Festival” – the 16th annual celebration of
the “sweetie” Maui onion will take place at Whalers Village with cooking
demonstrations, entertainment, and onion recipe competitions; “Obon
Dance & Festival” – the season of remembrance of honoring the spirit
of those passed on with special services and a festival held Aug 12th
– 13th at Kahului Jodo Mission and Aug 20th at
Rinzai Zen Mission in Paia.
We received a
