Sept. 14^th – 15^th “Taste of Lahaina & Best of Island Music Festival” – Maui’s largest culinary festival celebrating its 16^th year of tasty dishes from new & popular Maui County restaurants with continuous music and “fun zones” for the kids; Sept 29^th  “Taste of Northshore” – An eclectic offering of Maui and the Northshore’s finest restaurants, live music and silent auction; Sept 27^th – 30^th “85^th Annual Maui County Fair” – The oldest and best fair in Hawaii featuring rides, games, exhibits, orchidland, livestock,  horticulture Better Living tent and the BEST fair food!! 

The real estate market on Maui continues to follow the mainland trends, although our market generally lags behind California 6-8 months. Even though the numbers of sales transactions are trending downward and prices have been easing there is still a lot of activity, especially in the commercial market. The following graph depicts the number of transactions, per type since 2002. Trending downward since approximately March of  2005 the market has not hit the lows of 2002.
